If you're a subscription box owner - go elsewhere!
Our experience with Createjoy has been nothing short of dire. The customer service team is fairly unsupporting in many matters - as it appears their marketplace offering is fairly inflexible.
If you're happy to adjust your business to fit their model, then you probably won't encounter issues, however, if you have an established business and wish to join them for additional exposure/revenue, buckle up for a bumpy ride.
I was interested in signing up for 2 subscriptions on the cratejoy website. The prices on their website were different than what the subscription was. I contacted cratejoy and the response I got was, we don't control the pricing. That's it. No discount codes, no sorry, nothing. They do control their website that shows the wrong pricing. Because of their response, I will not use cratejoy for any subscription.
I recently bought a subscription for cratejoy Canada, and have cancelled already!
Total to my credit card including shipping should have been $33
00. BUT my card was charged $43.00.
I FEEL TOTALLY SCAMMED BY THIS COMPANY!!
I have contacted cratejoy and have not had a reply to my complaint as of today jan 29/2021. Only reply I got was subscription was cancelled, but no explanation as to why I was over charged.
To day recieved msg that my ticket was closed??? WTH!!!
I sent new msg today asking for full refund!! Will post results from this recent email.

If you are running a subscription business I would recommend not using cratejoy if you don't have to.
Unfortunately, majority of my subscribers come via cratejoy though so I have no choice but to use them however the customer service is awful there's no way to speak to someone directly you end up sending long emails back and fourth which often result in miscommunication.
Their subscription flow is very confusing and not very adaptable for specific business needs. The site is very glitchy and can be slow. They really need to work on their user experience for sellers as it just causes extra headache on top of running a business.
I bought a 3-month subscription for my mother, and only 1 box ever came. Apparently the affiliate business shut down, but Cratejoy didn't tell me that happened or offer any solution for a refund, gift card- I didn't hear anything from them at all.
In fact, when I found out a couple of months later, I reached out, and they told me to dispute the charge with my bank (which is about the laziest solution possible on their end). They did not offer a reimbursement, even though they partnered with a company that did not follow through. Instead, they choose to let the customer suffer the consequences.
I guess when things like this happen (and it seems that's pretty often, according to other reviews) they just hope buyers don't notice that the boxes they paid for never came.
Avoid, avoid, avoid, and then tell your friends to avoid too. So disappointing.
Cratejoy will deny you the right to post an honest, yet negative review in violation of H. R. 5111 - Consumer Review Fairness Act of 2016. They will not let you post anything less than a four star review.
They also host fraudulent sellers, such as "bloomin bin" and will protect these businesses no matter what they do.
Multiple complaints have been filed against them with the FTC and attorney general. Until they are shut down shop elsewhere!

Cratejoy has a bit of a problem. They are a gathering place for companies to sell their subscription boxes through but they know almost nothing about these companies. At least not the two times I've had issues. When you have a problem and you cannot find a way to contact the company or you have contact information and they don't answer there is nothing Cratejoy can do.
If their company had a bigger hand in the regulation of their 3rd party company's listings I could change my mind. Otherwise, it does what it does. Connects people with subscription boxes.
Cratejoy offers a decent service if you want to launch a subscription box company pretty quickly. Sadly, they are more than comfortable misrepresenting their fees to give them some extra money from unsuspecting users. I lost about $2000 in missing revenue because Cratejoy led me to believe I would not be paying their extremely high 11% fees if I had a subscription with them. However, this was a lie and it took me months to realize because THEY DON'T LIST THE FEES YOU ARE PAYING ANYWHERE. I had to find this information in my Stripe account. I will be cancelling my listing with Cratejoy as soon as I can and I recommend to others that you avoid them if at all possible. Make it yourself and don't contribute to a shady business like this. Cut out the used car salesman middleman!
